Canadian Culture Canadian Culture is an amalgamation of versatile cultures like European culture which mainly includes French and British, American Culture and primeval cultures. The culture of Canada is greatly influenced by American culture as due to propinquity between the two countries people keep on moving, which has lead to versatility in the culture of Canada. With the interchanging of ideas among people the Canadian traditions and culture differs from region to region.
The two most spoken languages in Canada are French and English. Both the languages carry the equal status in the Parliament, federal courts and federal institutions. The majority of people, whose primary language is French, called francophones, are basically situated in Quebec but their population can also be found in other areas like Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta. The other common languages spoken in Canada are- Italian, German, Punjabi, Spanish and Chinese.
When met the Canadians for the first time they appear to be gracious, polite, humble and passive. Most of the Canadians are Protestants or Catholic but still there are people who are from diverse religions. The Canadians do not believe in class differentiation and everyone in the society is considered equal irrespective of the religion, culture, class, caste or creed. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms provides all the citizens of Canada with fundamental freedom on the grounds of religion, thought, expression and opinion. According to the legislative measures all the Canadians have equal employment opportunities.
Canadian culture is ruled by multicultural heritage and the influence of this can also be seen in their musical works. These days many Canadian musicians are gaining popularity not just in America, but all over the world.
The government of US and Canada share a close relation and work together through different organizations for the advancement of the countries in terms of economic, legal, trade, military or security issues. Even the United Kingdom and Canadian government work together with different organizations like NATO, Commonwealth and G-8 sharing the common values, traditions and customs.
